A tiny kitten was discovered by a kind stranger near a building project, meowing for help with no one else around.
Alley Cat Rescue stepped in last month when a kind-hearted individual heard meowing coming from a construction site in Los Angeles. Upon investigation, they discovered a tiny orphaned kitten, just a few days old, in desperate need of help. The little furball was hungry, scared, and meowing incessantly.
Upon receiving the distress call, Alley Cat Rescue wasted no time in coming to the rescue. They speculated that the mother cat may have fled due to the loud noises at the construction site. Determined to give the kitten, now affectionately named Chickpea, the best chance at survival, they began feeding her every two hours and ensured she was kept warm and showered with love.
Rescuing a little calico kitten with eyes barely open was a challenge at first, as she struggled to latch onto the bottle for feeding. However, once she mastered the technique, she ate like a pro. After each feeding session, she would snuggle up in the cozy nook of her foster mom’s neck, seeking some extra love and care.
Alley Cat Rescue took in a kitten who had parasites and went through a tough time. Thankfully, Chickpea received the necessary treatment and care to recover. During her time at the rescue, Chickpea learned how to purr and now enjoys cuddles and rubs after each feeding. The rescue described her as a delight with her purring.
At Alley Cat Rescue, Chickpea is thriving with good food, warmth, a little music, and lots of love. As days passed, the tiny kitten started gaining weight and her eyes slowly began to open.

Chickpea couldn’t get enough of her bottles, happily purring away before and after each feeding.
“It’s incredible how much progress she’s made in just 10 days,” Alley Cat Rescue exclaimed to Love Meow.

As time went by, Chickpea’s senses of hearing, smell, and sight became more acute. She began to clumsily move around her cozy nest, eager to take her first steps and discover the world around her.
